Benghazi, 27 January 2026 (Lana) U.S. Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs Massad Boulos described his meetings in Benghazi with House of Representatives Speaker Agila Saleh, LNA Deputy Commander Saddam Haftar, and Libya Reconstruction Fund Head Bilgassem Haftar, as fruitful.
“We discussed U.S. support for Libya’s work to unify its military and the importance of this path in supporting the stability of the country,” Boulos said in a tweet.
He also said that the meetings discussed how Libya’s growing partnerships with U.S. companies are helping harness its tremendous potential, contributing to supporting economic development.
“I underscored that a unified national budget and support for the Central Bank of Libya are crucial to bolstering financial stability and advancing prosperity for the Libyan people and their international partners,” he added.
