Lieutenant General (Al-Namroush) meets with the leadership of the Air Defense Forces General Staff

Tripoli, January 26, 2026 (LANA) – The Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Salah al-Din al-Namroush, held a meeting this morning with the Chief of Staff of the Air Defense Forces, Major General Abdul-Fattah al-Balouq, his deputy, and several commanders of departments and administrative offices within the Air Defense Command.
The General Staff reported that a comprehensive visual presentation was given during the meeting, covering the work of the Air Defense Command, the efforts exerted at the Air Defense Special Operations Center, and the monitoring of any airspace violations by the systems.
A brief presentation was also given on the scientific and training courses received by Air Defense Command personnel, both within the educational facilities of the Air Defense Institute and in the Operations and Reconnaissance Division, as well as other activities and operations.
According to the General Staff, Al-Namroush commended the efforts of the Air Defense Command personnel and their role in protecting Libyan sovereignty from external threats. He emphasized the commitment to overcoming the obstacles facing the strategy for rebuilding and developing the air defense forces.
He urged air defense personnel to continue their work and keep pace with developments, stressing the importance of maintaining the readiness of the air defense forces and enhancing their capabilities to support their role in securing Libyan airspace and preserving the country's security.
