Tripoli, January 25, 2026 (LANA) – The Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency announced the arrest of a number of illegal immigrants who had entered Libyan territory through the country's southern border.

In a statement issued today, Sunday, the agency explained that all legal procedures were followed with those detained, and they were transferred to its detention centers in preparation for their deportation to their countries of origin in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

The agency indicated that this operation is part of its ongoing efforts to secure the borders and combat the phenomenon of illegal immigration, in full coordination with the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, and within the framework of security operations aimed at combating smuggling and illegal infiltration into Libyan territory.
