Tripoli, January 25, 2026 (LANA) – Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dabaiba, met today, Sunday, with the head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) and Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Hanna Tetteh, to discuss the latest developments in the political roadmap and the electoral process.

The government's media outlet quoted Dabaiba as saying during the meeting that the Government of National Unity's vision is based on rejecting any new transitional phases and proceeding directly to elections through an agreed-upon legal framework with legitimacy derived from the Libyan people.
