Egyptian Foreign Minister participates in the tripartite meeting on Libya in Tunisia.

Tripoli, 25 January 2026 (Lana) Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Ati traveled to Tunisia today to participate in the tripartite meeting of the foreign ministers of Egypt, Tunisia, and Algeria, held in the Tunisian capital, as part of the tripartite consultation mechanism on Libya, which was also attended by Hanna Tetteh, the UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Libya.

This meeting comes within the framework of ongoing coordination and consultation among the three countries regarding the latest developments in Libya and discusses ways to support efforts aimed at achieving security and stability and preserving Libya's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, in line with the Libyan people's aspirations for peace and development.

According to the official page of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Egyptian minister is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with senior Tunisian officials during his visit, with the aim to support and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and exchange views on regional issues of common interest, particularly developments in the Libyan situation.
