Dabaiba is following up with the head of the General Authority for Hajj and Umrah Affairs on preparations for the Hajj season.

Tripoli, January 21, 2026 (LANA) – Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba of the Government of National Unity met today, Wednesday, with the head of the General Authority for Hajj and Umrah Affairs and his deputies to review the Authority's operations and preparations for the 1447 AH Hajj season. They also discussed the registration process and ongoing organizational and technical preparations.

The head of the Authority presented a detailed report on the registration updates, explaining that the total number of pilgrims registered in the Hajj lottery reached 1,513,818, including 864,011 males and 649,807 females. He added that 760,263 registrants registered via the web platform and 753,555 via the mobile application, in addition to 89,361 cancellations.

The presentation explained that the Authority was keen to select accredited hotels in Mecca, in accordance with the requirements approved by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and in locations very close to the Grand Mosque. These included Hilton Convention Hotel, The Address Hotel, and DoubleTree by Hilton, in addition to providing distinguished accommodation in the central area near the Prophet's Mosque in Medina.

Dabaiba stressed the importance of continuing to work according to the highest standards of organization and transparency, and ensuring the readiness of all arrangements related to registration, accommodation, food, and transportation to provide the best services to pilgrims and enable them to perform their rituals safely and with ease.

Dabaiba directed close monitoring of all stages of preparations, with full adherence to the requirements and ensuring no leniency in any organizational or service aspect. He emphasized that the success of the Hajj season is a top priority and reflects Libya's image in providing the best services to pilgrims.
