The Chief of the General Staff chairs the annual meeting of the Supreme Council of Military Academies and Colleges.

Tripoli, January 19, 2026 (LANA) – The Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Dr. Salah al-Din al-Namroush, chaired the annual meeting of the Supreme Council of Military Academies and Colleges this morning, Monday.

The meeting was attended by the Head of Operations, the Head of Organization and Administration, the Head of Supply and Logistics, the Director of Training, the Director of the General Directorate of Military Accounts, and the commanders and senior instructors of the military colleges and academies.

During the meeting, Lieutenant General al-Namroush emphasized the role of these institutions in graduating qualified personnel to serve in the Libyan Army units. He stressed the importance of the support provided by the various departments and directorates to enable these institutions to perform their duties effectively.

The Commandant of the Military College presented a briefing on the agenda items and the needs of the preparatory year. Discussions focused on the current training year, including evaluations, standards, training reports from the military colleges, and their financial requirements.

The proposed number of students to be admitted to military colleges for the upcoming training year was also determined. This process will be overseen by the Recruitment and Reserve Department in coordination with the Student Admissions Committee.

The meeting also reviewed mechanisms for developing the colleges' academic curricula to align with modern advancements in various military fields, in coordination with the Training Department. Additionally, the difficulties faced by students studying abroad were discussed, and solutions were explored.
