Tripoli, January 18, 2025 (LANA) – The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) announced the commencement of meetings on the security and economic tracks within the structured dialogue process on Sunday in Tripoli. These meetings, held simultaneously in person and facilitated by the Mission, are scheduled to continue for the next four days.
UNSMIL explained that these meetings aim to organize discussions on the most pressing security and economic challenges. The two tracks are expected to finalize a list of key issues this week, which will be presented at the structured dialogue table for detailed discussion in the coming phase.
UNSMIL added that the meetings will produce proposals that include practical solutions and implementation mechanisms to address the issues raised, contributing to stability and strengthening both the security and economic tracks.
The Mission affirmed that this step is part of its ongoing efforts to support dialogue and national consensus, and to contribute to creating the necessary conditions for achieving stability and sustainable development in Libya.
