Tripoli – January 15, 2026 (LANA) – The Ministry of Social Affairs of the Government of National Unity announced the commencement of distributing rental assistance checks to displaced families from the city of Murzuq, as part of the approved social protection programs to support families affected by displacement.

The Ministry stated that the distribution process is being carried out under the direct supervision of the Minister of Social Affairs, Wafa Abu Bakr Al-Kilani. Specialized teams have begun distributing the checks to displaced families from Murzuq, following the completion of the distribution of rental assistance checks to displaced persons from the eastern region last week.

The Ministry affirmed that this step comes within the framework of supporting living stability and alleviating the economic burdens imposed by displacement conditions, emphasizing its commitment to continuing to care for affected families and ensuring that support reaches those who are entitled to it.

It explained that work is underway in coordination with relevant authorities to implement social protection programs targeting various regions, which will contribute to strengthening social stability and improving living conditions.
