The Chief of the General Staff discusses with a number of Air Force officers ways to support pilots and improve the work of the Air College.

Tripoli, January 13, 2026 (LANA) – The Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Dr. Salah al-Din al-Namroush, held an expanded meeting with the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Brigadier General Pilot Mukhtar Osman, and a number of specialized Air Force officers to discuss the pilot training program at the Air Force Academy and ways to provide the necessary training aircraft.

The meeting reviewed the approved training program for pilots at the Air Force Academy, according to the training stages (initial, basic, and advanced), in terms of the duration and flight hours allocated to each stage, ensuring that pilots are qualified according to the approved standards.

The meeting also discussed the procurement of the necessary training aircraft for the various training stages, with the aim of supporting the training process and raising the efficiency of the Air Force Academy, according to a statement published by the General Staff of the Libyan Army on its official Facebook page.

Al-Namroush affirmed his full support for the urgent procurement of training aircraft and working to activate the Air Force Academy as quickly as possible. He stressed the importance of focusing on new officers and enrolling them in specialized training courses that contribute to raising their level and qualifying them effectively to serve the Air Force.
