Tripoli, January 12, 2026 (LANA) – The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) commenced the elections for the pharmacists' sub-unions in Tripoli and Misrata on Monday, under the supervision of the Department of Elections for Professional Unions, Federations, and Associations. This initiative is part of the HNEC's support for democratic practices and its efforts to strengthen the role of professional unions.

According to a statement published on the HNEC's official page, voting is taking place at the HNEC headquarters in Tripoli and at the Misrata Elections Department office. Voting began at 9:00 AM and will conclude at 2:00 PM.

The HNEC confirmed that the electoral process is proceeding according to the approved administrative and technical arrangements, ensuring a smooth and transparent process that allows members of the general assemblies to exercise their right to vote with ease.

The HNEC emphasized its commitment to providing all necessary conditions for the success of these elections, which will contribute to supporting union work and consolidating the principles of participation and institutional organization within professional unions.
