Tripoli, January 11, 2025 (LANA) – The President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, met today with the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Political Affairs in Libya, Stephanie Khoury, to discuss the latest political developments in the country.

During the meeting, held at the Council's headquarters in Tripoli and attended by First Deputy President Hassan Habib and Second Deputy President Musa Faraj, the two sides discussed efforts to advance the political process, aiming to end the division and achieve stability through a consensual approach that meets the aspirations of the Libyan people.

They also discussed ways to resolve the dispute regarding the completion of procedures for the High National Elections Commission, considered the first step in the roadmap to end the political division and hold comprehensive elections.
