Jufra, January 7, 2026 (LANA) – Security operations patrols in Jufra, in coordination with patrols from the Waddan police station, apprehended two buses carrying a number of illegal immigrants of various African nationalities within their jurisdiction.
Sources within the security operations department explained that the number of illegal immigrants apprehended was 21. The first bus was carrying 11 immigrants, while the second bus carried 10.
The sources added that initial investigations with the bus drivers revealed their confession that they had previously transported illegal immigrants from Misrata to Waddan. The handover took place in the Dar al-Bayda area, located on the road to the TT rally site, for a fee of 600 Libyan dinars per trip. The immigrants were then to be delivered to an individual within Waddan.
Sources indicated that the drivers were placed in legal custody at the Waddan police station, while the illegal immigrants were referred to the Jufra branch of the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency. The two buses were impounded, and the necessary legal procedures were initiated in accordance with applicable legislation.
