The Military Academy in Tripoli commemorates the sixth anniversary of the martyrdom of its students who were targeted inside the training ground on January 4, 2020.

Tripoli, January 6, 2025 (LANA) – The Military Academy in Tripoli today commemorated the sixth anniversary of the martyrdom of its students who were targeted inside the academy's training grounds on January 4, 2020, in an official ceremony organized by the Media Division of the Moral Guidance Department of the Libyan Army.

The event was attended by the Secretary-General of the General Staff, the Director of the Minister of Defense's Office, the Commandant of the Military Academy, several directors of departments within the Ministry of Defense, a representative from the Moral Guidance Department, a number of Libyan Army officers, academy personnel including officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers, and academy students. Also present were the head of the Military Academy's Martyrs' and Wounded Families Organization and a group of families of martyrs and wounded soldiers.

In their speeches, the participants offered prayers for the souls of the martyrs and urged the students to persevere and follow in their comrades' footsteps of loyalty to the nation, to dedicate themselves to their studies and graduation, and to take pride in their affiliation with the Libyan Army.

The statement also commended the efforts of the General Staff and the Military College in securing the rights of martyrs and wounded soldiers, and their continued commitment to this endeavor.

During their meeting with the families of martyrs and wounded soldiers, the Secretary-General of the General Staff and the Director of the Minister of Defense's Office expressed their solidarity and support during this profound loss, affirming that the military institution will spare no effort in serving the families of martyrs and wounded soldiers, providing support and facilitating their access to their rights and the fulfillment of their demands.
