Tripoli, January 4, 2025 (LANA) – The Military Retirement Department organized a workshop on the mechanism for implementing Cabinet Resolution No. (441) of 2013, concerning military personnel.

The workshop, attended by heads of military retirement departments in the branches, focused on establishing a mechanism for applying the resolution to new retirement pensions, in addition to readjusting existing pensions to reflect the approved increase for those concerned.

The head of the Technical Advisory Department at the Fund, Fairouz Lyas, stated that the system will enable its users to complete the settlement process and calculate entitlement formulas and payable amounts with high accuracy, as well as standardize the procedures followed by the retirement departments.

Lyas emphasized that this event is part of the Social Security Fund's efforts to contribute to translating legal texts into practical and implementable procedures and to work diligently to activate them in a way that achieves justice and financial stability.

She explained that the resolution includes active-duty military personnel and those affiliated with the armed forces, based on Article Nine of the Military Retirement Law No. (43) of 1974.

She added that the workshop addressed identifying the necessary procedures and controls for implementing the decision, as well as discussing the most significant challenges that might arise during the implementation process, and proposing solutions and suggestions to overcome them, thus ensuring proper implementation in accordance with the law and practical realities.
