Tripoli, December 31, 2025 (LANA) – Attorney General Al-Siddiq Al-Sour briefed members of the Public Prosecution tasked with investigating cases of data falsification within the Civil Registry, within the jurisdiction of all Courts of Appeal. He presented statistics on the auditing of residency, transfer, and registration data at 160 Civil Registry offices, as well as the progress in verifying the eligibility of certain foreigners for Libyan citizenship.

During the meeting, Al-Sour discussed the extent of the investigative measures taken against those responsible for falsifying civil registry data. He also addressed the requirements for addressing the detrimental effects on the rights of the people on the economic, social, and political levels, in a manner appropriate to the investigation and the public prosecution.
