(LANA-Exclusive): Arrangements are underway to hold official and public funeral ceremonies for the Chief of Staff (Mohammed Al-Haddad) and his companions.

Tripoli, December 24, 2025 (LANA) – Preparations are underway for an official and public funeral befitting the high-ranking national military leaders and figures of the Libyan Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Mohammed al-Haddad, and his companions. He was a loyal national leader who dedicated his life to serving Libya and defending its security, stability, and sovereignty, leaving behind a distinguished legacy of sacrifice and professionalism.

According to LANA sources, the funeral prayer and military procession are scheduled to take place on Friday at Martyrs' Square in central Tripoli, after the completion of medical reports and the transfer of the bodies from Turkey. A large official, local, international, and public presence is expected, including military leaders, army officers from all regions of Libya, military academy students, and members of the Libyan Army General Staff.

According to initial arrangements, the funeral prayers and burial ceremonies for the Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Mohammed al-Haddad, the Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces, Lieutenant General al-Fitouri Ghraibil, the Director of the Military Manufacturing Authority, Brigadier General Mahmoud al-Qatawi, the Advisor to the Chief of the General Staff, Mohammed al-Asawi Diab, and the photographer at the General Staff Media Center, Mohammed Omar Ahmed Mahjoub, will be held in Tripoli. The burials for the fallen soldiers will take place in their respective home regions.

Sources indicated that the martyrs will be laid to rest in their home regions in private and community ceremonies (Lieutenant General Mohammed al-Haddad, Advisor Mohammed al-Asawi Diab, and photographer Mohammed Omar Ahmed Mahjoub). Lieutenant General al-Fitouri Ghraibil will be buried in the Qasr Bin Ghashir area, south of Tripoli, while Brigadier General Mahmoud al-Qatawi will be buried in his hometown of Gharyan.
