The House Defense and National Security Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee offer their condolences on the death of Haddad and his companions.

Benghazi, December 24, 2025 (LANA) – The Defense and National Security Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Libyan House of Representatives offered their deepest condolences on the death of Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad, Lieutenant General Al-Fitouri Ghraibil, and their companions, in the plane crash in Turkey.
In a statement, the Defense Committee said, “With profound sorrow and grief, we received the news of the death of Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad and his companions. We extend our sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Libyan Armed Forces, which has lost one of its men who performed his military duty with integrity and dedication during one of the most critical periods the nation has faced, embodying national values and prioritizing the supreme interest of the nation over political interests.”
The Committee also offered its condolences to the Joint Military Commission (55) on the loss of one of its members, Lieutenant General Al-Fitouri Ghraibil, and to the families of the deceased and their comrades in the Armed Forces.
For its part, the Foreign Affairs Committee expressed its deepest sorrow and condolences to the Libyan Armed Forces on the passing of General Al-Haddad and his comrades, praying that God Almighty grant them His mercy. The Committee also extended its sincere condolences to the Joint Military Commission (5+5) on the loss of one of its members, Lieutenant General Al-Fitouri Ghraibil.
