A Libyan military delegation examines the wreckage of Al-Haddad's plane in Ankara.

Ankara, December 24, 2025 (LANA) – A Libyan military delegation began inspecting the wreckage of the plane carrying Chief of Staff Mohammed al-Haddad, which crashed near the Turkish capital, Ankara, on Tuesday.

Following the incident, the military officials tasked by the head of the Government of National Accord with the mission arrived in Ankara by air.

According to Anadolu Agency, the delegation was received by officials from the Turkish Ministry of Defense before proceeding to the village of Kesik Kavak in the Haymana district of Ankara.

The Libyan delegation is continuing its inspection at the site where the wreckage is located.

On Tuesday, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the discovery of the wreckage of the plane carrying Chief of Staff Mohammed al-Haddad, four other passengers, and three crew members.

The committee tasked with coordinating with the Turkish side and investigating the plane crash departed Tripoli for Turkey early Wednesday morning to follow up on the circumstances of the incident that resulted in the crash of the Chief of Staff's plane and the deaths of him and his companions.

The committee will liaise with Turkish security and judicial authorities, complete the necessary technical and legal procedures, and coordinate with the Libyan embassy to facilitate the repatriation of the martyrs' remains.
