Erdogan offers condolences to Dabaiba on the death of the Chief of the General Staff and his companions

Tripoli, December 24, 2025 (LANA) – The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, received condolences from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the death of Libyan Chief of Staff Mohammed al-Haddad and his companions in a plane crash while returning from Ankara.

This came during a phone call on Wednesday, in which Erdoğan expressed his sorrow and condolences for the Libyan Chief of Staff, Mohammed al-Haddad, who was killed along with four companions in a tragic plane crash while returning from Ankara.

The Turkish President affirmed the Republic of Turkey's sympathy and support for Libya in this painful humanitarian situation, expressing his solidarity with the families of the deceased and with the Libyan people, and wishing them patience and solace.

The call also addressed the latest developments regarding the incident, with confirmation of continued monitoring and coordination between the relevant authorities in both countries, as well as cooperation with the Libyan delegation dispatched to follow up on the related procedures.
