Damascus, December 24, 2025 (LANA) – The Syrian Ministry of Defense expressed its deepest condolences to the Libyan Ministry of Defense on the death of Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Mohammed al-Haddad, and his accompanying delegation, in a military plane crash in Turkey.
In a statement carried by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on Wednesday, the Ministry said: “We followed with great sorrow and sadness the news of the crash of a Libyan military plane in the Republic of Turkey, which resulted in the death of the Libyan Chief of Staff and his accompanying delegation.”
The statement added: “While extending its condolences and sympathies to the Ministry of Defense of the sisterly State of Libya, the Ministry expresses its solidarity with the family of the deceased and the accompanying delegation, praying to God to have mercy on them and grant their families patience and solace.”
