Al-Lafi discusses bilateral cooperation and the political process in Libya with the British ambassador.

Tripoli, December 23, 2025 (LANA) – Deputy Head of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, met today, Tuesday, with the United Kingdom's Ambassador to Libya, Martin Reynolds, to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries, review existing cooperation, and the UK's supportive role in the political process in Libya.

During the meeting, Al-Lafi emphasized the importance of the UK's role in supporting efforts to create a conducive environment that would help overcome the political deadlock and pave the way for a comprehensive political solution leading to inclusive national elections with the participation of all Libyans. He stressed that this is the best way to end the division and unify state institutions.

The Deputy Head of the Presidential Council emphasized the importance of strengthening security and stability in Libya, given its direct impact on the stability of the entire region. He stressed the need for concerted international efforts and intensified effective support for the political process to ensure a peaceful and lasting solution to the Libyan crisis that respects national principles and preserves the country's unity and sovereignty.
