The Electoral Commission cancels some results of the municipal council elections for the third group due to violations at polling stations.

Tripoli, December 23, 2025 (LANA) – The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) has annulled some of the results of the 2025 municipal council elections for the third group, following the discovery of violations and irregularities at polling stations.

The HNEC decision stipulates the annulment of elections at four polling centers in the Sirte electoral district: Al-Farabi (individual/list), Al-Zafran (individual), Al-Majd (individual), and Gamal Abdel Nasser (individual).

The HNEC also annulled the election results at one center in the Al-Abyar electoral district: Abdel Hamid Al-Abbar (individual/list).

The HNEC affirmed that this action falls within its legal powers and aims to protect the will of the voters and ensure transparency and equal opportunities for all candidates. It noted that the results from all other polling stations not affected by this decision remain valid.
