Benghazi, December 22, 2025 (LANA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the government appointed by Parliament denied reports circulating in some media outlets and on social media platforms regarding the alleged kidnapping of an Indian family within Libyan territory.
In a statement, the Ministry clarified that the family was apprehended by the competent security authorities while attempting to use Libyan territory as a transit point for irregular migration to Europe.
The Ministry affirmed that it fully coordinated with the relevant security agencies to take the necessary legal measures. The family's situation was secured, and all necessary arrangements were finalized for their safe and secure return to their country of origin.
The statement further explained that a Libyan family provided the family with accommodation and care throughout their stay in the country.
