Tripoli, December 22, 2025 (LANA) – Mohammed Al-Menfi, Head of the Presidential Council and Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army, held an expanded military and security meeting on Monday. The meeting included the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (Minister of Defense), the Chief of the General Staff and his deputy, the Acting Minister of the Interior, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense for Military Regions, the Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces, the Head of Operations, the Commander of the Tripoli Military Region, the Commander of the Central Military Region, the Director of Military Intelligence, the Director of the Office of the Supreme Commander, and the Commander of the 52nd Infantry Brigade.
The Presidential Council's media office reported that the meeting addressed the security and military situation, discussed the combat readiness of military units, the level of discipline and organization, and evaluated approved operational plans and mechanisms for enhancing coordination among the various military and security agencies and institutions.
According to the office, Al-Menfi was given a comprehensive and detailed briefing on the current security situation, the progress of the tasks assigned to the military units, the existing field challenges, as well as proposals to raise the efficiency of operational performance, enhance stability, and ensure the protection of national sovereignty and the preservation of public security.
