Libya and Tunisia discuss boosting tourism between them and expanding cooperation in traditional industries.

Tripoli, December 21, 2025 (LANA) – The Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industries in the Government of National Unity, Nasr al-Din al-Fazzani, met today, Sunday, with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Tunisian Embassy in Libya, Mohamed Habib al-Sadiq, to ​​discuss efforts to revitalize tourism between the two countries and expand cooperation in traditional industries.

The meeting, held in Tripoli, addressed ways to encourage tourism companies from both countries, overcome existing obstacles, and enhance coordination between relevant institutions in both countries.

During the meeting, the Minister referred to the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of traditional industries, explaining that it would be signed at the earliest opportunity. He also touched upon the topic of training in traditional industries, proposing the possibility of the Ministry hosting a number of Tunisian trainers specializing in ceramics and carpets, a proposal that was welcomed by the Chargé d'Affaires.

For his part, the Tunisian Chargé d'Affaires expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Libyan Minister of Tourism for Libya's support of Tunisia's bid to be named the Arab Tourism Capital for 2027. He emphasized the deep fraternal relations between Libya and Tunisia and his country's keenness to strengthen bilateral cooperation in a way that serves mutual interests.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides affirmed their commitment to continuing joint efforts to enhance cooperation and promote tourism and traditional industries between the two countries, thereby contributing to development and strengthening fraternal ties.
