Jakarta is hosting the second session of the Libyan-Indonesian Joint Committee meetings.

Tripoli, December 15, 2025 (LANA) – The second session of the Libyan-Indonesian Joint Committee convened in Jakarta, the Indonesian capital, on Monday, as part of efforts to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The Libyan side was headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Expatriate Affairs, Mohammed Zeidan, while the Indonesian side was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Muhammad Anies Mata, with the participation of representatives from relevant authorities in both countries.
The committee reviewed the course of bilateral relations and ways to enhance and develop cooperation between the two countries in a number of priority areas, including the economy and trade, political and diplomatic coordination, health, technical and vocational education, and investment.
Both sides affirmed their shared commitment to activating existing agreements and memoranda of understanding, expanding the scope of the bilateral partnership, and strengthening communication and integration between public and private sector institutions, in order to support common interests and achieve sustainable development in both countries.
Both sides expressed their satisfaction with the positive and constructive atmosphere that prevailed during the committee's work. They also affirmed their commitment to continued coordination and follow-up to implement the agreements reached, reflecting the strength and solidity of bilateral relations between Libya and Indonesia.
At the end of the meeting, the heads of the two delegations signed the agreed-upon minutes of the second session of the Joint Committee, as well as the agreement on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and special passports, with the aim of facilitating the movement of officials between the two countries.
The two sides also agreed that this exemption constitutes an important preliminary step towards working towards the elimination of visa requirements for citizens of both countries in general as soon as possible, which will contribute to enhancing movement and economic exchange, and supporting avenues of cooperation and partnership between Libya and Indonesia.
A memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture of Libya and the Chamber of Commerce of Indonesia was also initialed, contributing to strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
