Tunisia and Algeria Reaffirm Support for a Comprehensive Political Solution in Libya.

Tunis, December 13, 2025 (LANA) – Tunisia and Algeria reaffirmed their full support for a comprehensive political solution in Libya, emphasizing the importance of the role of neighboring countries in promoting lasting stability and supporting international efforts aimed at ending the division and building unified Libyan institutions capable of extending their sovereignty over all Libyan territory.
This came during a press conference held by Tunisian Prime Minister Sarah Zafrani Zanziri and Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Gharib on Friday in Tunis, at the conclusion of the 23rd session of the Tunisian-Algerian Joint High Commission.
Both sides affirmed their welcome of the outcomes of the second tripartite meeting on Libya, held in Algiers on November 6th, considering it an important milestone in regional coordination among neighboring countries and a tangible support for efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability in Libya and strengthening peace in the Maghreb and Arab regions.
The Tunisian Prime Minister emphasized the convergence of views between Tunisia and Algeria regarding developments in Libya and the necessity of intensifying consultation and joint coordination to ensure that Libyans are supported in a consensual political process, free from foreign interference, and that Libya's unity, sovereignty, and resources are preserved.
For his part, the Algerian Prime Minister affirmed that supporting a comprehensive political settlement to the Libyan crisis is a firm strategic choice for both countries, based on enabling the Libyan people to rebuild their legitimate institutions and ensuring Libya's stability as a fundamental factor for the security of neighboring countries and the region as a whole.
