The Government of National Unity's Foreign Ministry calls on state institutions and international partners to continue joint efforts to build a stable Libya.

Tripoli, December 10, 2025 (LANA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity affirmed its unwavering commitment to protecting human dignity in accordance with the teachings of Islam, upholding the principles of freedom, justice, and equality, and working towards building a state governed by the rule of law where rights are protected without exception.

In a statement issued Wednesday on the occasion of International Human Rights Day, the Ministry expressed its full commitment to these universal human values, which aim to establish the principle of accountability and end all forms of impunity, as a fundamental condition for achieving justice and strengthening trust between citizens and state institutions. The Ministry expressed its full support for the comprehensive process based on justice, truth-seeking, redress for victims, and national reconciliation.

The Ministry emphasized the government's commitment to prioritizing the right to development through investment in education, health, and infrastructure, and by empowering youth and women, thereby ensuring the well-being and dignified life of every citizen.

The Ministry stressed its support for efforts to unify institutions and establish security and stability throughout the country, as these are essential for building a state governed by the rule of law and achieving sustainable development.

The Ministry reiterated its affirmation of the right of peoples to choose their representatives, considering it the cornerstone of building a democratic state. It emphasized its full support for efforts to hold free and fair parliamentary and presidential elections that reflect the will of the Libyan people and end the transitional phases that have burdened them for years, leading to the assumption of power by an elected government that enjoys legitimacy and reflects the popular will.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation called upon all state institutions, civil society, and international partners to continue joint efforts to build a secure, stable, just, and democratic Libya that promotes and consolidates the principles and obligations of human rights.
