A delegation from Turkish YTB institution visits (LANA).

Tripoli, December 9, 2025 (LANA) – A delegation from the Turkish Ministry of Education, headed by Omar Erçin, visited the headquarters of the Libyan News Agency (LANA) in Tripoli on Tuesday and was received by the Chairman of the Board, Abdulbasit Ahmed Aboudia.
The Turkish delegation included Melisa Doğan, an official from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities; Fatme Inci, the ministry's Cultural and Social Affairs Coordinator; and Yeliz Oz, an expert from the Presidency for Turks Abroad.
The Chairman of the Board, Aboudia, welcomed the Turkish delegation, expressing his readiness to initiate effective cooperation with Turkish educational institutions, particularly in the media, journalism, and technology sectors, based on the long-standing historical ties between the two countries.
Aboudia explained that the elements for strengthening these relations are present and encourage their expansion to include all fields through the commonalities between the Libyan and Turkish peoples.
He emphasized the agency's desire to build bridges of cooperation with Turkish media institutions, including Anadolu Agency, in training young Libyan professionals, exchanging information in cultural and media fields, and implementing and publicizing cooperation programs in both countries.
For his part, Erçin expressed his pleasure at visiting the Libyan News Agency, learning firsthand about its departments and divisions, and exploring prospects for partnership and cooperation. He conveyed the desire of the Turkish Ministry and academic institutions to initiate tangible cooperation with the agency and expand its scope, particularly in preparing academic theses for Libyan students in all fields, as well as exchanging expertise in media and languages, which are among the most effective means of understanding the shared heritage.
On the sidelines of the visit, the delegation toured the newsroom and the agency's documentation and information center, where they viewed historical documents chronicling events at the local, regional, and international levels, including the history of Libyan-Turkish relations.
The head of the Turkish delegation expressed his deep admiration in a statement he wrote in the visitors' book at the Documentation Center, noting his profound appreciation for the historical documents and reference materials he had seen, which he considered a valuable resource reflecting the long-standing history of the Libyan News Agency.
Erçin also wrote in the visitors' book: "It is a great pleasure and honor for us to visit the Libyan News Agency today. This media institution plays a significant role in strengthening relations between our two countries. On behalf of the Turkish people, I express my happiness and gratitude to you."
At the conclusion of the visit, both sides agreed to continue consultations regarding prospects for cooperation and to identify areas for Turkish educational and training grants that the Libyan News Agency (LANA) could utilize in its plans to develop its operations and staff.
