Al-Baour and the United Nations discuss strengthening cooperation and developing governance and oversight systems.

Tripoli, December 9, 2025 (LANA) – The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, met on Tuesday with the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Libya, Ulrika Richardson, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation with the United Nations.
The Ministry stated on its official page that the meeting addressed cooperation between Libya and the United Nations in several areas, most notably oversight and governance priorities, and national efforts aimed at building reliable and accountable public financial systems, in accordance with international standards and practices.
During the meeting, Ulrika Richardson commended the national efforts undertaken to unify institutions and the progress achieved by the relevant authorities in the areas of effective monitoring and auditing, considering them key elements for enhancing transparency and fairness.
She affirmed the United Nations' commitment to continuing its support for national efforts and strengthening and developing its partnership with Libya in training and capacity-building programs.
