The Minister of Housing discusses with officials from the Chinese partnership (CSCEC) the implementation of infrastructure projects within Libya.

Tripoli, December 8, 2025 (LANA) – The Minister of Housing and Construction, Abubakr Awidat, held a meeting this morning with officials from the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) to discuss ways to cooperate and partner in implementing infrastructure and public works projects in Libya.

The meeting, held in Tripoli, also explored opportunities for joint investment and the exchange of technical expertise in several fields between the Ministry of Housing and Construction and the Chinese company.

The two sides agreed to form a joint committee that will work for two weeks and submit a final report to the Minister of Housing. The committee's task is to review previously contracted projects that have been stalled for years, and to assess the company's readiness to contract for new projects and invest in the construction of new housing units, in line with the initiative of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dbeibah, for the National Housing Program.

The meeting was attended by Amin Issa Al-Bakoush, a member of the High Committee for Supervising Libyan-Chinese Cooperation; Rajab Al-Dali, Director of the Tripoli City Development Authority; and Abdul Latif Al-Khazmi, Director of the Projects Department at the Ministry.
