Algeria's Sonatrach confirms it has completed its exploration commitments in Libya by drilling two additional wells.

Tripoli, December 8, 2025 (LANA) – The Exploration Department of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) held an expanded technical meeting today, Monday, with officials from the Algerian company Sonatrach, as part of the NOC's annual meetings with participating foreign companies.
The meeting, held in Tripoli, discussed Sonatrach's work completed during 2025, including updates on re-entering the A1-96/2 exploration well and its plans to drill four appraisal wells in Contract Areas 95/1 and 96/1. Sonatrach confirmed its commitment to fulfilling its exploration obligations by drilling two additional wells.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the NOC's Exploration Department, the General Manager of Sonatrach and his deputy, and a number of specialists and technicians from both sides, in addition to representatives from Indian companies via videoconference.
