Cotonou, December 7, 2025 (LANA) – The General Authority for Communications and Informatics participated in the meetings of the African Working Group on the UN-sponsored World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS+20) in Cotonou, the capital of Benin.
The Authority's team presented a comprehensive technical and strategic presentation that included an in-depth analysis and systematic comparison of 14 strategic axes between the Libyan and African positions regarding the future of digital transformation.
The proposal focused on establishing binding global regulations for the use of digital space in the age of digital intelligence and advocating for the creation of an international charter for the protection of digital space that strengthens accountability and transparency. It also included the establishment of an international observatory to monitor disinformation and cross-border digital interference, as well as the harmonization of international legal procedures related to digital crimes and cross-border investigations.
