French Embassy celebrates the success of an economic project to finance Libyan women entrepreneurs.

Tripoli, 7 December 2025 (Lana)— The French Embassy in Libya announced the success of the “New Generations” project funded by the French Development Agency (AFD), which aims to empower Libyan women entrepreneurs economically.
The embassy stated on its website that this initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to promote the economic and social empowerment of women in Libya and to support women entrepreneurs in overcoming different challenges.
It stated that four women-led startups each received €15,000 in funding to develop their projects in key sectors such as technology, art, and media in Libya.
The embassy explained that funding these companies represents a significant step towards supporting innovation and opening new horizons for professional and economic growth, with a focus on creating an environment that encourages creativity and sustainable initiatives in vital sectors.
The embassy added that the project seeks to build a model for women's empowerment in the face of obstacles, emphasizing that supporting women in entrepreneurship is not only an economic investment but also a step towards promoting equality and social inclusion in Libyan society.
