Libya Participates in the Arab Council for Population and Development.

Baghdad, December 6, 2025 (LANA) – Libya participated in the seventh session of the Arab Council for Population and Development, held in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on December 3 and 4.

The Libyan delegation was headed by the Minister of Planning in the Government of National Unity, Mohammed Al-Zaidani, who expressed his appreciation for the ongoing efforts of the League of Arab States and the Technical Secretariat of the Arab Council for Population and Development in supporting and strengthening joint Arab action in the field of development and population.

Al-Zaidani also emphasized the importance of the meetings in enhancing cooperation among Arab countries in addressing population and development challenges, which require concerted efforts to achieve common goals.

In his address, Al-Zaidani expressed his deep gratitude to the sisterly Republic of Iraq for its warm hospitality and excellent organization of the session, noting that Iraq had created an ideal environment for agreements and constructive discussions among the participating delegations.

Iraq is chairing the seventh session of the Council, which saw the participation of official delegations from various Arab countries. During the meetings, they reviewed the most prominent population and development issues in the region, in addition to discussing ways to enhance cooperation among Arab states in this vital field.
