Tripoli, December 3, 2025 (LANA) – Canadian Ambassador to Libya, Alison Stewart, expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) in implementing the electoral process, praising the level of organization and professionalism that has characterized the ongoing electoral stages.
During her meeting today in Tripoli with the Chairman of the HNEC, Emad Al-Sayeh, the Ambassador affirmed the Canadian government's continued support for the electoral process in Libya and the importance of the partnership with the HNEC in strengthening the democratic process.
For his part, Al-Sayeh reviewed the level of technical and logistical readiness that the HNEC has reached to implement these elections, in accordance with the approved professional standards and within the specified timeframe.
The meeting, which was also attended by HNEC Board Member Rabab Halab, addressed the latest developments in the electoral process in Libya, particularly the 2025 municipal council elections (Group Three).
