Libya is participating in the conference on victims of terrorism in Africa, held in the Moroccan capital, Rabat.

Tripoli, December 2, 2025 (LANA) – Libya participated with a high-level delegation in the Conference on Victims of Terrorism in Africa, held today at the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rabat, with the participation of representatives from African and international countries.
The Libyan delegation was headed by the Minister of Youth, Fathallah Al-Zani, accompanied by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Libyan Embassy in the Kingdom of Morocco and a member of the Ministry of Youth.
In his address to the conference, Al-Zani affirmed the Government of National Unity's solidarity with the victims of terrorism in Africa, highlighting Libya's long experience in confronting terrorist organizations and groups.
Al-Zani also emphasized the importance of the role of Libyan youth in protecting society and contributing to building peace and stability, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on its official page.
During the conference, the Libyan delegation noted Libya's confrontation with terrorist groups that targeted sovereign state institutions in recent years, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the High National Elections Commission, and the National Oil Corporation. In this context, the delegation commended the heroism of the soldiers of Operation Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous, which culminated in the liberation of Sirte from the clutches of terrorist groups.
The Libyan side also emphasized Libya's active regional role, which has contributed to protecting the country and the continent from the expansion of terrorist groups. At the same time, it reiterated the Government of National Unity's call for the establishment of a joint African mechanism to support victims of terrorism and enhance the exchange of information and expertise.
On another note, the Libyan delegation commended the efforts of the Kingdom of Morocco in supporting the political process and the efforts of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), promoting national dialogue, and hosting regional initiatives that enhance security and stability in North Africa and across the continent.
Libya's participation comes within the framework of its active presence in all regional and international forums concerned with combating terrorism, its pioneering experience in confronting terrorist organizations, and highlighting the role of Libyan youth in protecting society and contributing to building peace and stability, as well as demonstrating the state's ability to defend its national interests and enhance regional security.
