Benghazi, December 1, 2025 (LANA) – The Investigation and Arrest Office of the Illegal Immigration Control Agency in Benghazi announced the arrest of 32 illegal migrants of Bangladeshi nationality, including two individuals suspected of being key coordinators within human smuggling and money laundering networks.
The agency's Security Media Office explained in a statement that the operation comes as part of a broader campaign aimed at dismantling smuggling and human trafficking networks, based on information and field investigations that led to locating and arresting the migrants.
The statement indicated that the two suspects were involved in facilitating the transfer of migrants within and outside Libya through financial transfers and logistical coordination. It emphasized that these measures are a continuation of previous investigations, based on confessions from defendants in similar cases.
The Security Media Office added that investigations with the detainees are still ongoing, and the case file will be referred to the Public Prosecution as soon as the necessary legal procedures are completed.
