Tunisian and Algerian foreign ministers discuss developments in Libya.

Algiers, December 1, 2025 (Lana) Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Nafti held a bilateral meeting with Algerian Minister of State and Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf on the sidelines of their participation in the International Conference on Crimes of Colonialism in Africa and the 12th Annual Forum on Peace and Security in Africa, held in Algiers from November 30 to December 2, 2025.
The meeting discussed a number of Arab and African issues, most notably the Libyan issue, where both parties stressed the need to strengthen and activate the tripartite Tunisian-Algerian-Egyptian mechanism on Libya, ensuring its effective contribution to supporting a purely Libyan-led solution that enhances the country's stability and preserves its unity and sovereignty.
The two ministers also emphasized their shared views on the importance of advancing the political process and encouraging all efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive and peaceful settlement, which would positively impact regional security and the stability of the Maghreb region.
The meeting also discussed a number of issues related to peace, security, and development in Africa, where both sides highlighted the importance of continuing joint work with international partners to strengthen Africa’s presence in international organizations and forums and to defend its priorities and issues.
