Counter-Terrorism Force Arrests Kidnapping Gang in Misrata.

Tripoli, November 27, 2025 (LANA) – The Counter-Terrorism Force announced today, Thursday, the arrest of a criminal gang comprised of African workers and the freeing of a kidnapped girl. The gang was operating in the city of Misrata.

The Counter-Terrorism Force's media center stated on its official page that the operation to free and arrest the gang came after an urgent report was received from a member of the Nigerian community regarding the kidnapping of his sister and her subsequent physical assault.

The office confirmed that the gang was apprehended in the act, in possession of the kidnapped girl, who was immediately freed and ensured her safety.

He explained that the suspects confessed, leading to the location where the hostages were being held and the site of the attacks. The location was then raided, and two women involved in the kidnapping crimes within the criminal network were arrested, paving the way for their referral to justice.

The force reiterated its full commitment to protecting the security of citizens and residents, urging everyone to cooperate with security agencies and immediately report any suspicious activity.
