The Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs hands Aboul Gheit an invitation to visit Tripoli.

Cairo, November 26, 2025 (LANA) – Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit received an official invitation from the Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord, Abdulhamid Dbeibah, to visit Tripoli, the capital, affirming Libya's keenness to strengthen communication with the League and continue coordination on shared Arab issues.

This came during Aboul Gheit's meeting on Wednesday with the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid Al-Lafi, on the sidelines of the Arab Information Ministers Council meetings held at the League's headquarters in Cairo.

During the meeting, the Minister conveyed the Prime Minister's greetings to the Secretary-General, emphasizing Libya's appreciation for the role played by the Arab League in supporting joint Arab action and for the Secretary-General's efforts on political and media matters.

For his part, the Secretary-General welcomed the invitation, affirming the General Secretariat's interest in following developments in Libya and supporting its efforts to achieve stability and enhance its presence within the Arab world, according to the government's media office.
