Tripoli, November 25, 2025 (LANA) – The Libyan-Maltese Technical Committee for Maritime Boundary Demarcation held a meeting this morning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Tripoli. The meeting was chaired by Mohamed Al-Harari and attended by members of the Libyan Technical Committee.
Representing the Maltese side was Christopher Cutajar, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism and head of the Maltese delegation to the Libyan-Maltese Technical Committee for Maritime Boundary Demarcation, along with his accompanying technical delegation.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the work of the committee and the technical proposals and visions presented. They also exchanged views on the issues under discussion.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing bilateral talks and overcoming all obstacles to reach a balanced maritime boundary demarcation between the two countries, one that safeguards the shared interests of the two friendly nations.
The meeting was attended by Abubakr Al-Tawil, Director of the European Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Nadia Mohamed Ali, Head of the Southern Europe Section, in addition to several specialists in monitoring Libyan-Maltese relations from the European Affairs Department and the International Cooperation Department.
