Tripoli, November 24, 2025 (LANA) – The meeting held today by the Head of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, with the Egyptian Ambassador to Libya, Tamer El-Hefny, focused on discussing the situation of Egyptian companies contracted to implement development projects in Libya, and ways to ensure the implementation of these projects in accordance with national legislation and governance requirements.

Shakshak emphasized the importance of the Bureau's oversight role in protecting public funds and ensuring the effectiveness of spending, stressing the need for continuous coordination to serve the public interest in both countries.

The Head of the Bureau commended the efforts of the Egyptian Central Auditing Organization in hosting and organizing the 25th General Assembly of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), which was held in Sharm El-Sheikh last October, noting that the excellent organization set a model to be emulated in international auditing.
