Tripoli, November 23, 2025 (LANA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, through its African Affairs Department, announced the opening of nominations for membership in the Truth, Reconciliation and Recovery Commission in the Republic of South Sudan, in cooperation with the African Union Commission and the United Nations.

The Ministry stated on its official page that the Commission will consist of seven members: three nominated by the African Union, one of whom must be a woman, and four appointed by the Government of South Sudan.

The Ministry noted that the nomination process for this type of commission typically requires specific criteria, such as experience in the fields of human rights, justice, peace, and reconstruction.
