Al-Sour meets with Richardson.

Tripoli, November 21, 2025 (LANA) – Attorney General Al-Siddiq Al-Sour and Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Resident Coordinator of the United Nations, Ulrika Richardson, reaffirmed their commitment to continuing their partnership aimed at supporting and building the technical capacities of justice and rule of law institutions in Libya.

This came during the Attorney General's meeting with Richardson yesterday, Thursday, at his office in Tripoli, where the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the Attorney General's office and the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).

Both parties stressed the importance of strengthening international support for national efforts aimed at developing the justice sector, particularly in the areas of combating organized crime and transnational crime, according to a statement issued by UNSMIL.

According to the same statement, the two sides exchanged views on areas of concern related to serious human rights violations and corruption issues that undermine governance, stressing the need to continue joint and coordinated work to consolidate the rule of law and promote respect for human rights principles in Libya.
