Al-Baour discusses with the Korean ambassador the resumption of Korean companies' activities in Libya

Tripoli, November 20, 2025 (LANA) – The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baou, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Libya, Jang Jehak, to discuss ways to resume the activities of Korean companies in Libya and create a suitable environment for the return of Korean experts and technicians to resume their work in the country.

This meeting took place on Thursday at the Ministry headquarters in Tripoli, where Al-Baour received the Korean Ambassador. During the meeting, they exchanged views on the close bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields to serve their mutual interests. They also consulted and coordinated on issues of common interest, aiming to enhance political cooperation, expand economic and development cooperation, and open the door to further investments and joint projects.

The meeting also addressed ways to expand the Korean diplomatic presence in Libya to ensure the continuity of consular services and facilitate direct cooperation between the two sides, in addition to supporting economic and cultural partnerships between the two countries.

Al-Baour emphasized the importance of continued coordination between Libya and South Korea to develop political and economic relations and open new avenues for partnership that serve the interests of both countries. He stressed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' commitment to strengthening Libyan-Korean cooperation and activating bilateral partnerships to support development and stability in Libya.

For his part, Ambassador Jang Jehak expressed his appreciation for Libya's efforts to enhance bilateral relations, affirming his country's keenness to support cooperation in the political, economic, and cultural fields and to open more opportunities for Korean companies to invest and contribute to development projects in Libya.
