The Presidential Council and the Audit Bureau discuss enhancing transparency and oversight performance in state institutions.

Tripoli, November 18, 2025 (LANA) – Presidential Council members Musa al-Koni and Abdullah al-Lafi met with the Head of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, on Tuesday to discuss strengthening transparency and governance within state institutions and supporting the Bureau's efforts to improve its oversight performance.
The two sides discussed mechanisms for enhancing coordination between the Audit Bureau and executive bodies to ensure the protection of public funds and the consolidation of the principles of discipline and transparency. They also discussed supporting initiatives related to developing government spending monitoring systems and modernizing digitization and e-governance tools to improve data quality and the accuracy of verification procedures.
During the meeting, the Presidential Council members emphasized the pivotal role of the Audit Bureau in promoting administrative and financial reform and contributing to building effective institutions capable of responding to current challenges. They commended the steps taken by the Bureau to adopt modern work programs that align with digital transformation and transparency requirements, according to the Audit Bureau.
The two deputies reviewed the progress of work on the annual report and the efforts being made to improve the readiness of oversight reports. They also reviewed the new technological programs the Audit Bureau is developing to automate oversight processes and enhance its capacity for analyzing financial data.
Al-Koni and Al-Lafi expressed their appreciation for the Bureau's efforts to protect public funds and strengthen accountability within state institutions. They affirmed the Presidential Council's support for the Bureau's oversight role and its initiatives aimed at building a more efficient and transparent digital oversight system.
