Al-Hwiej discusses with the UN mission the development of partnership and economic support programs

Tripoli, November 17, 2025 (LANA) – Minister of Economy and Trade of the Government of National Unity, Mohamed Al-Hwiej, met with the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and UN Resident Coordinator in Libya, Ulrika Richardson, to discuss opening new avenues for cooperation and deepening coordination between the two sides.
During the meeting, held at the Ministry, the two sides reviewed the current state of the economy and trade in Libya and discussed ways to support the national economic development plan through programs and initiatives offered by the United Nations system and its specialized agencies.
They also discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation in developing economic infrastructure, improving the business environment, and supporting initiatives aimed at achieving economic stability, thereby contributing to creating promising investment opportunities and supporting the path to economic prosperity.
