Tripoli, November 12, 2025 (LANA) – Presidential Council member Abdullah Al-Lafi met today, Wednesday, at the Council's headquarters in Tripoli, with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Saudi Embassy in Libya, Abdullah bin Dakhil Allah Al-Salmi, to discuss the latest political developments in Libya and ways to address the current impasse.

The meeting addressed the latest political developments in Libya and ways to overcome the current deadlock, ensuring progress towards a comprehensive political settlement that ends the transitional phases and restores stability. This includes supporting the UN mission's plan aimed at achieving this, and advancing a comprehensive roadmap leading to elections and the unification of state institutions.

Al-Lafi emphasized the Presidential Council's commitment to proceeding with the national reconciliation project, noting the importance of unifying the military institution and the withdrawal of all foreign forces and mercenaries from Libyan territory. This, he stated, would strengthen national sovereignty and preserve security and stability in Libya and the region.

For his part, Al-Salmi affirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s support for efforts to stabilize and unify Libya, and its keenness to enhance cooperation and coordination in various fields, in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples and strengthens the path of security and development in the region.
